I need a good play or book to do this on!!! HELP!! PLZ!!?

In many works of literature, past events can affect, positively or negatively, the present actions, attitudes, or personality of a character. Choose a novel or play in which a character must contend with some aspect of the past, and in a 500 word essay, discuss a character whose past has affected his/her present and how that past manifests itself.
