Would a hawk swoop down and get my dog?

I have 4 mini daschunds and they like to play outside in my fenced in back yard 2 of them are full grown and 1 is almost full grown the other and last one is is about as big as the end nof a broom (small) I was wonderinf if hawks would swoop down and get them. Today I let them all out to play and I saw hawks surounding the area they where looking down one dipped down and looked as if it where going to grab my 2nd smallest so I hurried and got them in. I was wondering don I have to worry about this much? I will walk out and watch them for 5 hours no problem if I have to but DO I have to? And any other worries about other creaturs of the wild you can inform me of would be great help, I live in the contry my yard is a pretty large one but I have a 10x16 feet fenced in area (I think its actully a lottle more then 10x16) and I live in the country thanks! I just want my babies to be safe!
